Temporary Accounts Payable Specialist

Our nonprofit client in Orange is seeking a Temporary Accounts Payable Accountant to support high-volume AP operations. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounts payable processing, vendor communications, invoice approvals, payment processing, and maintaining accurate financial records. The position will also provide occasional backup payroll support and assist with other accounting functions as needed.

Responsibilities
Process full-cycle accounts payable, including G/L coding, invoice entry, approvals, and payments
Manage approximately 100-125 non-PO invoices weekly
Follow up with departments and vendors regarding approvals and payment inquiries
Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with accounting policies
Assist with deposit data entry and other accounting support functions
Provide backup payroll support as needed
Qualifications
2+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience
Experience with invoice coding, approvals, and payment processing
Proficiency with Bill.com or similar AP automation software
Strong Excel skills, including data entry and basic formulas
Associate's degree or higher strongly preferred
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred: Accounts receivable exposure; nonprofit or healthcare industry experience.
